Catan Games
Settlers of Catan Board Game
Beginners should start here, with the original released in 1995. Wooden
pieces, sturdy board tiles and excellent visuals make Catan a worthy entry into
the history of strategy tabletop gaming.
Seafarers of Catan
The first expansion to the original game, adding a exploratory theme complete
with ocean tiles, ships and a special wildcard resource tile. This edition also includes more land tiles and scenarios to enhance the game with new layouts.
Cities & Knights of Catan Game
Catan's second expansion, focusing on a stronger militia, and a new resource
type: commodities. Now, instead of just placing settlements and cities,
you can upgrade them to unlock new advancements to give you an edge over
your opponents. This is one of the best expansions for Catan.
Starfarers of Catan Game
Starfarers is a standalone variant of the original Catan game set in outer
space. Instead of playing the role of medieval explorer, you are seeking
out new, alien friends and colonizing remote planets.
Settlers of the Stone Age Game
Another standalone Catan variant, focusing on the first human tribes to roam the
earth.

Catan
Online
Want to try the original game for free? Check out Catan Online, on the MSN gaming zone. Invite your MSN Messenger buddies to play with you seamlessly with a small download.
WannaGame
An excellent service that has been around for a few years, Wanna Game allows registered users to play sharp-looking Java versions of Catan games. My current favorite is Xplorers, which is basically an exact copy of Catan with the Cities and Knights expansion. You can join a special gaming lobby for ranked games as well. If you have heard of, or played WanCatan, this version more or less replaced it for Internet play (and it's just about bug free). Wannagame is free!
Catan at the Board Game Geek
An excellent resource for Catan reviews, modifications and logged playing sessions to give you insight on strategy or ways to enhance your Catan experience. Board Game Geek is a great place to find new rules and player made tile sets and expansions.
JSettlers
A free, Java-based version of the original game that allows for
up to 4 players, human or computer.
