Power Grid
This is the original, base game with two maps - the United States and Germany. This is where you want to start if you want to learn the game. It is also required for any of the expansions/add-ons.
Power Grid: France and Italy
This is the first official expansion, which is basically a new game board with two maps - France and Italy. There are also some basic market resource changes to match the markets in those countries. The base game is required (but not the Benelux/Central Europe expansion).
Power Grid: Benelux and Central Europe
Here is the second, official expansion for Power Grid with a new game board consisted on Benelux and Central Europe. The Benelux is Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. The Central Europe map basically covers Poland and Hungary. Again, there are some resource changes to match the economic markets in the supported areas, adding new twists to the game. The base game is required (but not the France and Italy expansion).
Power Grid: Card Deck 2
New in late 2007, this new card deck can be used in a variety of ways - mixed with the original, as a replacement of the original, or used to build a custom deck. The possibilities are endles. Don't like the number 42 original power plant, replace it with the one from this expansion. There are now also number 1 and 2 plants to jumpstart the game a little quicker. The base game is required, but not the other map expansions.
