- Add carrots to simmering spaghetti sauce to sweeten lightly. Remove carrots before serving.
- Use powdered sugar instead of flour when rolling out cookies and they will be crisper and tastier.
- Keep pasta water from bubbling over by spraying the pan first with nonstick spray.
- To prevent watery-tasting iced-tea, use ice cubes made from iced tea or lemonade.
- Spray your plastic storage containers with nonstick cooking spray before pouring in tomato-based sauces and there won't be any stains.
- Run your hands under cold water before pressing Rice Krispies treats in the pan and it won't stick to your fingers.
- Add a pinch of baking powder to mashed potatoes to make them extra fluffy.
- Refrigerate candles before using and they will burn slower and more evenly.
- When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of sugar to help bring out the corn's natural sweetness.
- Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips.
- To prevent egg shells from cracking, add a pinch of salt to the water before hard-boiling.
- Try lemon drops or hard mint candy instead of sugar to flavor your tea.
- Add a pinch of baking powder to your sugar icing to keep it creamy and prevent hardening or cracking.

- Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.
- To easily remove burnt on food from your skillet, add a drop or two of dish soap and enough water to cover bottom of pan, and bring to a boil on stovetop.
- To get the most juice out of fresh lemons, bring them to room temperature or quickly microwave, and roll them under your palm against the kitchen counter before squeezing.
- To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.
- Use a meat baster to squeeze your pancake batter onto the hot griddle and you'll get perfectly shaped pancakes every time.
- Spray measuring cups with unflavored non-stick cooking spray before measuring sticky things like honey or molasses and it will pour out easily.
